gather round children, and let me tell you the story of the Jolly Roger. Hidden in downtown Urbana, this pirate-themed restaurant actually served Italian cuisine and not seafood, as one might infer from the giant plastic fish on the walls. as it turns out, the owner of the Jolly Roger was not on top of his game. But his employees were loyal, hard workers who believed they could work their way out of the slump. After several months of working without pay and actually purchasing supplies for the restaurant out of their own pocket, the loyal workers came to work one day and found the restaurant locked down. The owner had disappeared, and the employees had no way to collect their back pay. And so, the Jolly Roger stands abandoned, in a sea of asphalt, contributing to the blight of downtown Urbana.
